My Beloved

And, behold, a voice from heaven, said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17 (ESV)

Because Jesus is God’s beloved Son, when He lives in our heart, we too can say, “I am God’s BELOVED.”

Beloved means dearly loved, dear to the heart.

It probably comes as no surprise BELOVED is the word I chose for letter B in this series.

I long to help others live as God’s beloved.

Knowing. Believing. Living.

A progression often stalled at knowing.

We can know what God’s word says:

As indeed he says in Hosea, “Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’ and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’” Romans 9:25

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (NIV)

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 (NIV)

Just because we know it doesn’t mean we believe it.

And if we honestly believed it… wouldn’t we live it?

Everything changed for me when I moved from knowing to believing.

I’ve talked about this in a few of my vlogs on Beauty and Body Image, and it’s difficult to explain, I just know I didn’t stop asking God how He saw me and what He thought of me. One day, I was surrendered enough to hear His voice.

“You are beauty. You are my beloved.”

And I believed Him.

His truth penetrated my heart and infiltrated my thoughts.

I AM GOD’S BELOVED.

Each day I believe this truth is a day I live it with more confidence.

YOU ARE GOD’S BELOVED.

I pray you...

Know it. Believe it. Live it.
