"Now they may say to me, 'What is His name?' What shall I say to them?"
And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'" Exodus 3:13b-14 (NASB)
Huh? What kind of name is I AM?
It's a name like no other!
When I taught Bible to Kindergarteners, God's answer to Moses's question always confused them. So, I decided I'd turn "I AM" into a sentence starter. I'd prompt them with, "God says, 'I AM'..." and let them shout out their answers.
Here's some of what I'd hear:
I AM love.
I AM forgiveness.
I AM strong.
I AM Savior.
I AM King.
I AM Creator.
Once they got started, the list was unending. Just like Jehovah.
